I finished my blue longies last night! They look really nice, I'm very happy with them. Now I just need to lanolize them today and then wait the 2 days it takes for them to dry, then they're off to their new home!
Okay, you've piqued my interest. What kind of yarn do you use for these pants, and what pattern? Toby loves them, right? I wonder if I should make some for the b man...
I hope I get around to finishing another project today. I'm working my fingers off but it doesn't seem to be getting anywhere...
I use this pattern: http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEsummer05/PATTcargo.html They are pretty easy, knit in the round (the less seams the better for me!). If you do a web search for "longies" you'll see several patterns. I've seen them for crochet too. I've been using elastic waists, but I'm thinking about switching to a rib waist with a drawstring so they're more adjustable. I make them with merino wool (the wool is for the diaper cover), but if you're not using them as a diaper cover, any soft yarn would work. It generally takes me 1.5 skeins, so enough leftover for a hat or something. I have some awesome black yarn saved up for a pair for Toby for this winter...I'm going to use them for pajama pants I think (the wool will be nice and warm!). HTH!
I left a note in the TTC thread. I don't know how much I'll be back in. Just other things have gotten my attention I guess. :) I hope we can keep in touch through our craftiness though!
